3 Tips to get started with Human Design

I'd like to tell you that I fell in love with Human Design and it all made sense from the first words. The reality is more complex.

If you are like me -and many of my clients- you are surely attracted by all the tools that allow you to understand yourself better. You are open-minded... and you are also rational. So, when you come across Human Design, what comes to your mind is rather: "what is this weird thing, it looks like a cult".

I reassure you, I told myself the same thing! That's why I'd like to share with you my 3 tips for getting started with Human Design. Like many other esoteric tools, there is no "scientific" proof that it "works". The best thing to do is to experiment with it yourself. To do this, it is sometimes necessary to go beyond the "packaging" and go and tap into the hidden treasures.

Shall we go?

You've just arrived and you don't know what Human Design is? You can start by reading my article Human Design: powerful tool or questionable dogma?

Tip #1: Cultivate your curiosity

Human Design is a system with strange origins and the founder is not necessarily a very friendly figure, I grant you.

That said, there are some great treasures in there that can really change the way you look at life. It did for me, anyway.

I'm not going to lie to you, I was also very sceptical at first. However, I had the intuition that I had to dig into this subject, that there were many things to explore and discover.

I was also lucky enough to come across Human Design through enthusiastic people who were much closer to my own experience than the official literature. That helps too.

So my tip for you is to open yourself to the field of possibilities. Cultivate that curiosity when you're looking at your human design.

Take information for what it is: information, not an immutable truth.

Tip #2: Trust yourself

The second tip - which goes hand in hand with the first - is to learn to trust yourself.

The Human Design system is very complex. I also find it dated, in the sense that it was channeled at one time (late 80s) by a straight white Canadian man (Ra Uru Hu). It is necessarily biased. The words chosen are often difficult to grasp and very connotative. -I have really tried to simplify and clarify the concepts as much as possible in my chart readings. You can then integrate the concepts into your daily life and see real results.

By learning to trust yourself, i.e. to listen to your feelings about each piece of information you receive, you will be able to determine what resonates with you, and what you prefer to leave out.

Sorting through all this information is perfectly okay, I would even say it is essential. You can't take it all in and put it in place at once! Besides, as I explained to you in another article, we all have a unique holistic personality, and Human Design is just one part of that personality.

Lastly, it is often said that HD is a system of differentiation, i.e. it offers a unique vision of each human being. So of course, how you integrate this information depends on you and your world view! It is by experiencing it for yourself that you will be able to make sense of it all more accurately.

Which brings me to the last tip.

Tip #3: Practice compassion

What does this mean? As I was saying, Human Design is a very complex system and not very engaging at first. There are lots of strange concepts and words, it can be overwhelming.

So I invite you first of all - by listening to your feelings - to choose a concept, an idea that speaks to you, and draw the thread from that.

Maybe a lot of things will speak to you and you'll want to explore everything at once I see you Manifesting Generator. That's great! However, it's important not to go too fast, and to integrate the information step by step. Hence the compassion.

The path may be chaotic and discouraging at times: you may feel that you are not moving fast enough, that you understand intellectually but keep "making mistakes". Welcome these mistakes, they are there to teach you what you need. Be kind to yourself and your process. They say it takes about 7 years to decondition, so thank yourself for being on the path!

I hope that these three tips will help you to move forward more serenely in the discovery of your essence and your functioning. It is truly a fascinating system, and the more you explore it, the more nuggets you discover!
